Eat Safer provides an overview of foods and beverages that due to health or suspected health hazards are withdrawn from the Norwegian market.

- Keep track of the foods and drinks that are taken out of the Norwegian marked
- Get notifications of new products that are taken out of the Norwegian marked

If there is a problem with a food product that means it can not be sold, it can be withdrawn (be taken off the shelves) or customers are asked to return the product.

The overview is partly based on information that food manufacturers have reported to the Norwegian Food Safety Authoritys district offices and warnings that the FSA has received via the European reporting system RASFF (Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed).

NOTE
To get notifications of new products that are taken out of the market, one must allow the application to run in the background.

SOURCE
The information is retrieved from matportalen.no, delivered by the Norwegian Food Safety Authority (Mattilsynet) in cooperation with the Norwegian Directorate of Health (Helsedirektoratet), the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (Nasjonalt folkehelseinstitutt), the Norwegian Veterinary Institute (Veterinærinstituttet), the Norwegian Institute for bioeconomy (NIBIO), the Norwegian Institute of Nutrition and Seafood Research (NIFES), the Norwegian scientific Committee for Food Safety (VKM) and the Norwegian NRPA.
